We Udderly Love Our Troops!

We at Dr. Hess Udder Ointment udderly love our troops! We realize the sacrifice that they endure not only on the battlefield, but off as well. The physical and emotional toll it takes on them, and their families, will not be forgotten by us! As a small token of our appreciation we like to send our products to the good men and women sacrificing themselves over sees for our benefit! This is just one way we say thank you!

Here is a thank you note from a great woman who put together a care package for our troops!

Just wanted to let you know I received the udder ointment today.  It will be shipped overseas on Nov 18.  Thank you so much.  And it smells just the same as I remember.  I have attached a couple pics of our group.  The group shot was taken on 4th street just up from the old Myers plant.  And then there are a couple pictures of our “troop Kitchen” where we store and pack the boxes.

Thanks again for your donation, our men and women deserve all we can do for them.

Let’s Talk- Smell!

Ok I’m not going to talk about our B.O., I just don’t think we are that close yet! But if you have tried Dr. Hess Udder Ointment, you may have noticed our menthol scent. You may love it, you may hate it, but let me share with you its purpose and healing properties! Before you unfairly judge.

“Most of menthol‘s uses are related to its stimulation of the skin’s cold receptors. This property makes menthol produce a cooling effect when inhaled or applied to the skin. Similarly to the capsaicin chemical found in hot peppers, which stimulates heat receptors, menthol does not actually change the skin’s temperature, but merely produces the sensation of temperature change.

Because of its cooling effect, menthol is used in products meant to relieve skin irritation, sore throat, or nasal congestion. It may be used to treat sunburn, fever, or muscle aches as well. In traditional Asian medicine, menthol maybe prescribed for nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, headache, cold, or sore throat. When used as a supplement for health reasons, menthol is usually taken in the form of peppermint oil. Products that commonly contain menthol include toothpaste, cough drops, lip balm, mouthwash, and gum.” From wisegeek.com

Udderly Fantastic Recipe! Butternut Squash Soup

We here at Dr. Hess Udder Ointment don’t just want a blog for our new customers but for our loyal customers as well. So each week we’ll be featuring something new and Udderly Fantastic that we’ve discovered.

This week since we’ve been posting about fall skin care we’ve also decided to post a yummy recipe for a fall soup. As in the post about fall skin care your body needs to be nourished from the inside out. We believe this soup is just what Dr. Hess would order for a cool (busy) fall day!

I created this recipe for a crock-pot but it can be made on the stove as well.

2 cups Butternut Squash cubed
3 large Carrots sliced
1 Onion diced
4 c Vegetable Stock
1/2c Light Cream
Salt
Pepper
Add the prepared veggies to the crock pot, pour broth over the top.

Cook for 4-5 hours on high or 7 hours on low or simmer on the stove for 35 minutes.

Puree with an immersion blender or in 2 batches in the blender.

Add the cream, salt and pepper to taste.

I like to serve it with freshly grated Parmesan and home made rolls.
We really hope you enjoy it, as well as our future udderly fantastic posts.

Udder love,
Elle

Let’s Talk – Fall Skin Care

Keep your skin Udderly Smooth may seem like a difficult request when the cool
breezes blow and the leaves turn red and crunch beneath your feet. Those cool
breezes may refresh the soul but they can chap your skin turning it red, irritated,
and cracked too! Dr. Hess Udder Ointment has the answers! From lips to toes!

First wash and gently exfoliate. Remember the harder you scrub the more damage
you’re likely to do. To dry gently pat your skin dry, don’t rub! Bathing opens the
skin to receive moisture. Dr. Hess Udder Ointment will be most effective when done
right after. Some dermatologists have recommended not even toweling off before
applying.

Next use Dr. Hess Udder Ointment to MOISTURIZE! Our light weight yet effective
formula with 13 emollients will seep in to your skin and also cover it with a barrier
of protection keeping that moisture in and the rough fall and winter elements out.

Also remember Dr. Hess Udder Ointment after all that hand washing that goes along
with cold and flu season. Maybe put a tube by every sink in your house! Be sure to
take some with you on the go- we do have 2oz and .25oz that are perfect for on the
go!

It may be easy to remember those cute toes in the summer when you want to
show off your pedicure but don’t neglect them just cause you’re not showing them
off! They need even more care in the winter! Dermatologists recommend using a
moisturizer that contains Petroleum Jelly. Dr. Hess Udder Ointment has just that!
We also have a cooling minty smell that is just the thing your feeties want and need!

Dr. Hess Udder Sticks don’t forget the lips! They see more elements than just
about any other part of your body! Make them a must everywhere you go! I’m in
the mist of a very fun cold and my Mint Udder Stick has been my saving grace! All
that “mouth breathing” might have left me with Chapped Lips. Thanks to my Dr.
Hess Udder Stick they are Udderly Smooth!

Finally don’t forget to nourish your body from the inside out! Keep your body well
fed and hydrated. We’ll be including some more posts to help you do just that!
